Before you start futuristicOS 8 for the first time, make sure that the programs A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, Bs, FUTOS, MENU and TPROG are unpacked and the programs CALCULAT, CAS, CONTRACT, CURRENCY, FUTOS8, GAMES, HAVEAGUE, MARKS, NETWORK, NOTES, RESET, SETTINGS, SNAKE, TEXTCONT, TICTACTO, TIME, TIMETABL and UNLOCK are archived. This can be tested under 2ND + MEM [+] > 2:Mem Mgmt/Del... > 7:Prgm... . To archive a program or to unpack it, choose it and press ENTER. Pay attention that you have enough free RAM (at least 8000 bytes) available for loading apps.
Furthermore, it is strongly recommended to set time and date correctly under MODE, so flawless execution of futuristicOS 8 can be guaranteed.

1. Start prgmFUTOS by pressing the PRGM button and scroll down to FUTOS (not FUTOS8). Press ENTER to select the program and again to start it.
2. First, choose the language and confirm your selection.
3. Enter your name and confirm your name by pressing ENTER.
4. You have successfully set up futuristicOS 8! Press Enter after you have read the information to proceed.

To start futuristicOS 8, you have to start prgmFUTOS from the PRGM menu.

1. Unless disabled in the settings, a message appears with the title "Welcome". Press Enter to hide it.
2. Once in the lock screen, you can unlock futuristicOS 8 by pressing Enter or the right arrow key, or open an app by pressing a certain number (for example 1 for the timer). Press CLEAR or 0 in the lock screen to exit futuristicOS 8 or ALPHA to lock your calculator.
3. If required, insert your code now.
4. With repeated false input a renewed attempt to unlock may be granted only after an increasing period. In that case it is advisable if you forget your code for futuristicOS 8 to reset futuristicOS 8 by pressing DEL in the lock screen and then select YES [Y =] to reset.
5. futuristicOS 8 has been unlocked and you reached the homescreen.

The Home screen is the basic element of futuristicOS 8, from which apps are started.

1. To go to the Home screen, futuristicOS 8 must first be unlocked.
2. You can move the selection with the wheel and confirm by pressing ENTER or press the number of the app to start an app.
3. To exit an app, the 2ND key must be pressed. Note: This does not work when syncing in Network and CAS.
4. Some apps such as Calculators and Games are folders which contain other apps. If you press 2ND in these apps you return back to the folder.
5. Pressing the 2ND key in the home screen starts Text-Control, which you can give commands such as opening an app in English.

futuristicOS 8 can be ended in two ways: By quitting futuristicOS 8 or by locking futuristicOS 8.

1. To lock futuristicOS 8, only the ALPHA key must be pressed. In this case the device gets locked and when you turn it on it shows you the lock screen.
2. To end futuristicOS 8, you have to return to the homescreen first.
3. CLEAR or 0 in the home screen has to be pressed, which causes a choice to appear asking whether a code entry is required the next time futuristicOS 8 is started or not.
4. futuristicOS has been quitted.

Note: It is strongly advised not to interrupt the execution of futuristicOS 8 by pressing ON since important data can be lost and the Graph screen as well as the Y= functions will get defective.
